Lots of folks have posted to the newsgroup wondering how elaborate an explanation the INS is looking for when they ask for "circumstances of meeting" and "evidence of meeting in person ...".
Here's what I wrote to them:
"Circumstances of Meeting: My fiance and I had been corresponding on the Internet. He teaches professional courses, and comes to the U.S. for that purpose from time to time. He had a course scheduled in Los Angeles, and posted asking if anyone was interested in meeting. Attached is the correspondence he and I had regarding this first meeting."
And I included a print-out of the e-mail that he and I had sent back and forth to set up this first meeting.
"Last Meeting: My fiance was again in the U.S. in April of 1979. Enclosed are 1) a photo of him and I together, showing the date the photo was taken; 2) a copy of the identification pages and the visa page showing the U.S. Immigration stamp dated April 12, 1997 c) phone bills showing several phone calls I made to him in the UK in preparation for this visit."
And I included xeroxes of the things I mentioned. I would have included a copy of his airline tickets, except we hadn't kept them.
